Golden Braid Square
US J/10 (6mm)
Caron One Pound, Category 4 Medium (worsted weight), 100% acrylic, 812yd/454g, "Royalty" (Main Color) & "Sunflower" (Contrasting Color)
1 skein each of MC and CC
tapestry needle, scissors
Intermediate: Comfortable with crochet basics and post stitches. Techniques include cables, shaping, and colorwork
12 x 12" (30 x 30 cm) after blocking
Worked diagonally, you increase equally on both sides until you reach the size of the square, then you decrease equally on both sides until you reach the opposite corner.
The braid is worked in a contrasting color while the background is the main color. To avoid having floats or colors poking through, I recommend separating the main color skein into two balls to work on opposite sides of the braid.
